Knowledge and Experience Sharing Program
The Korea Road Association (KROAD) is organizing the Knowledge and Experience Sharing Program under the theme of sharing the experience of Korea in the field of infrastructure development by inviting foreign government officials. Across several programs, KROAD contributes to the capacity building of participants and strengthens its network with partner countries.
- To share policies, technologies and good practices in the field of topic
- To identify challenges which the participants are facing and exchange the views on any issues in order to solve the problem
- To promote cooperation between the participating countries and the Republic of Korea
The Knowledge and Experience Sharing Program (KESP), supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, is an annual invitational program in which Korea shares its development experience and knowledge with partner countries and international organizations. Since 2018, the Korea Road Association has been organizing the “Knowledge and Experience Sharing Program of Korea (KESP)”. Every year, a series of 9 programs are carried out to cover various topics, such as road, railways, urban development, and water by inviting more than 120 foreign government officials, diplomatic missions and international organizations.
As a part of the Transport System Improvement Project (TRANSIP) in Ethiopia, supported by the World Bank, the Korea Road Association organized two Knowledge Sharing Programs in 2016 and 2019 respectively by inviting the TRANSIP implementing agencies and managers from the public transport sectors. In order to share Korea’s ITS based solution to the transport management system, the two programs mainly consisted of various technical visits to learn traffic control and management, an integrated public transport system, automatic fair collection system, incident management system, bus maintenance system as well as different ITS technologies and facilities deployed in the management of the transport service.
The Korea Road Association organized Knowledge Sharing Program for the Thai delegation in 2019 to promote cooperation between Korea and Thailand road transport professionals. The program consisted of meeting with the ministry and technical visit to study Korea’s multi-land smart tolling system, traffic monitoring, tunnel and public transportation.
